A Message from Georges...

Hi all! Happy Holidays. I know that I haven't updated the website since last Christmas, but I hope to get more involved with it throughout 2010. I have been quite busy acquiring a whole bunch of new material and hope to have much of it uploaded in the weeks and months to come. To all that have ordered DVD downloads, thank you. And I appologize if it took a while to email you with your passwords after your prompt payments. For any inquiries, email me at geonsey@gmail.com as well as pdtreasues@gmail.com. Merry Christmas to all and I hope to work with you all in the New Year! -Georges B.

ALL NEW!! ... DVD DOWNLOADS NOW AVAILABLE!

Public Domain Treasures, www.PDTreasures.com , now launches a new way to get your DVD-- by downloading it!

This month features a great new collection for the Holidays. Introducing Public Domain Treasures, Christmas Treasures, Christmas 2008, Volume One.

This compilation includes Seymour Hicks' classic characterization of Charles Dickens' "Scrooge" (1935), our Feature Presentation. Classic Christmas Television brings you, "Westinghouse Studio One: The Play of the Nativity" (1952), as presented live, with original sponsor demonstrations. The first volume of our Holiday collection concludes with classic seasonal short films and cartoons, like Max Fleischer's endearing version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer; Howdy Doody's Christmas; The Night Before Christmas; and many more!

Feature Film: Scrooge (1935), Starring Seymour Hicks [Screenshot 1; Screenshot 2; Screenshot 3; Screenshot 4]

Classic Short Films: The Night Before Christmas (Castle Films, 1943); A Christmas Dream (Castle Films, 1950); Howdy Doody's Christmas (Castle Films, 1951) [Screenshot]; Silent Night

Click the PayPal button to buy this compilation, then follow the instructions below.

To download this DVD, click on the Paypal "Add to Cart" button above. For only $2.99, you will have access to unlimited downloads of this DVD until the next password reset date indicated below. We will email you the download password upon payment. Feel free to copy and distribute this DVD as part of our Creative Commons License, since each DVD you download from Public Domain Treasures is absolutely free of Digital Rights Management schemes. We want to have our titles out there, but we ask that you pay the download fee, so that we can keep the DVD's coming and pay the bandwidth fees as we offer the titles to you.

There are 6 parts to the download, and you will need all 6 parts to assemble the DVD. Each part of the archive uses the same download password, and you can use any zip extracting software to extract the contents of the entire archive. The archive was created using 7-zip (a freeware application from www.7-zip.org that you can download here).

Extract the DVD files to a new folder in your computer. The DVD file structure is compliant with any DVD drive, so it should work with any computer or stand alone DVD player. The extracted files will provide you with pre-mastered files in folders to build your dvd using any DVD making software. I like VSO's Copy to DVD (download trialware here: http://www.vso-software.fr/download.php), but you can use any software that will copy DVD's from any VIDEO_TS.IFO files in the VIDEO TS folder of the extracted archive you will have downloaded. (If you don't know how to make DVD's, I recommend to check out http://www.videohelp.com/ or order a pre-made DVD that we can ship you. Email us for more details about that, but please, DO NOT EMAIL US FOR ADVICE OR HELP ON CREATING DVD'S. We simply do not have the manpower to answer those questions.)

Accompanying this DVD, you can also download original cover and label art to complete the "Special Deluxe Edition" of this DVD. If you prefer that Public Domain Treasures sends you the complete Special Deluxe Edition instead of downloading it, just email us and we can help you with that, for only $9.99 to cover the complete costs of production and shipping.

Password reset schedule: December 1, 2008; January 15, 2009; February 28, 2009; other dates to follow.

SUPPORT OUR SITE

We welcome your donations.

Alot of time and effort is put into the operation of this site. Distribution of the material (in the form of professional-quality authored DVD-R's) is provided to collectors at cost.

The smallest donation to keep this site running and the distribution of material available is very much appreciated although never necessary.

Further donations aid in puchasing research materials, such as Film Superlist books, and maintaining bandwith costs; etc. Your support is very much appreciated.

Thanks a bunch and we hope you enjoy your experience at www.pdtreasures.com !
