Why the heck do we do the things we do?

Our Frequently Asked Questions are here.

Frequently Asked Questions

You have chosen to discontinue your DVD collections. Why?

  • Well, just for the time being. I am looking for better and simpler ways to make the collections available at as low a cost as possible. I am also redesinging the DVD collections in the way they look and play in DVD players and compiling new content as they become available.

What happened to your website, it's been down for a while?

  • Sorry about that. The web host I was using wen't belly-up some months ago and as a result, the website went to oblivion. Well, we're back, and we hope to implement some improvement in the coming months to improve your experience and expand a much simpler ability to purchase commercial DVD's and download custom titles created exclusively by Public Domain Treasures.

How are your DVD's authored and what type of media do you use?

  • The Public Domain Treasures DVD Magazines are authored and published by hobbyist Georges Brunet for www.PDTreasures.com. Single-Sided, Single-Layer DVD-R's are used because they are most cost effective. We only use brand name DVD-R's like Memorex or TDK, etc. for maximum reliability.

Your DVD's are great, but why are they without labels or packaging?

  • To reduce costs of production and shipping, every issue of our DVD Magazine is published on non-labelled disks and supplied in a windowed envelope. We won't even write on them with a marker in case you want to use this DVD as a master-disk for your own replication or library backup.

Who distributes your DVD Magazines?

  • Right now, Public Domain Treasures DVD Magazine is only available through individual purchase or subscription via www.PDTreasures.com. However, duplication and distribution is encouraged by subscribers who want to share these treasures with their friends and family, as long as the DVD's contents and structure remain intact. And if you make money from the project, we request a donation of 10% of your sale to www.PDTreasures.com to keep production of the DVD Mag alive.

Your website touts, "the definitive resource for all things Public Domain," but there is much more content to be had than what you have on your website."

  • Yes, that is true, and we are always adding content and information to the website. Public Domain Treasures is still a young site, but in time, we hope to be your ultimate destination for any of your PD needs and research.

SUPPORT OUR SITE

We welcome your donations.

Alot of time and effort is put into the operation of this site. Distribution of the material (in the form of professional-quality authored DVD-R's) is provided to collectors at cost.

The smallest donation to keep this site running and the distribution of material available is very much appreciated although never necessary.

Further donations aid in puchasing research materials, such as Film Superlist books, and maintaining bandwith costs; etc. Your support is very much appreciated.

Thanks a bunch and we hope you enjoy your experience at www.pdtreasures.com !
